Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Des Moines Downtown

The breakfast was typical motel fare. Scrambled eggs, waffles, limited selection of yoghurt and fruit. Nothing to write home about. I was a little nonplussed that for our entire one week stay a housekeeper never set foot in the room nor were we asked if there was anything we needed. We aren't high maintenance so it really didn't matter but nonetheless it did surprise me. We weren't told at check that there would be no housekeeping service.

Went to attend the Quilt Show at the event center which is just up the block for the facility. Which made it ideal. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

The facility was kept very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Since we attended a conference that was across the the location was perfect. Onsite parking is very helpful when attending a conference.

It's easy enough to get in and out of, and in summer would be ideal to walk around the area. It was coolish in the room, but with a personal temp adjustment, all was good for an excellent, restful sleep.

It was right across the street from the concert venue. Did not have to pay for Concert Parking. It was clean, breakfast was good and staff was friendly.
